Who Can You Sponsor?
Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor certain family members to come to Canada, including:
- Spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner
- Dependent children
- Parents and grandparents
- Other eligible relatives in specific situations
Sponsor Requirements
To sponsor a family member, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Prove you have enough income to support the person(s) you're sponsoring
- Sign an undertaking promising to provide for the basic needs of the person being sponsored
