PGWPs themselves cannot typically be extended or renewed once issued, but IRCC periodically introduces special public policies allowing eligible graduates to apply for a new work permit once their PGWP expires. We track these announcements closely.

If your PGWP expires without a follow-up permit or PR application in progress, you risk falling out of status. We proactively plan your next steps — whether that's another work permit stream, an employer-specific LMIA-based permit, or a permanent residence application — well before expiry.

Yes, in most cases, authorized work experience gained under one of these bridging or public policy work permits counts toward the Canadian work experience requirements for programs like the Canadian Experience Class.
